Godspeed You! Black Emperor kicked off a run of 2024 tour dates on the weekend, and treated a crowd in New York to new, unreleased material.
As Brooklyn Vegan points out, the Montreal post-rock legends worked three new songs into their set at New York City's Knockdown Centre.
Audio of the three songs, captured by a concertgoer, can be heard in the players below. The current titles of all three — "Flowers," "Flames" and "Feathers" — are unofficial, decided upon by concertgoers based on projections accompanying the songs during the concert.
Ahead of touring Europe this spring and the UK this fall, Godspeed You! Black Emperor will play Canadian dates in Oshawa and Kingston this week, at which they'll be joined by BIG|BRAVE guitarist Mat Ball.
