HEALTH Health::Disco2
Health aren't like the other kids down at the Smell. The L.A. club that launched shit gazers No Age, Abe Vigoda and Mika Miko could have easily defined the career of the quartet if Health hadn't branched out with projects like Health//Disco and Health::Disco2. Even the playful leadoff original, "USA Boys," shows Health inching away from their noisy beginnings. The remainder of Health::Disco2 shows a notable list of remixers having their way with Get Color. CFCF polishes the rust from "Before Tigers" and Javelin gives "In Heat" a new jack swing. Tobacco gets the most out of "Die Slow," giving it an additional melody line, while on "Eat Flesh," Crystal Castles recycle the same chop-and-drop formula Health used on their remix of "Air War." Additional remixers like Gold Panda, Salem and Pictureplane all have similar ideas, moving hazy tracks along at a cloudy pace that allows Health::Disco2 to magically transform from shit gaze into shit glaze.
