The rosters of Headless Owl Records and You've Changed Records include some of Canada's finest songwriting talents, and the two labels have announced plans to join forces for a collaborative endeavour. Their project The Cost of Doing Business will bring together some stellar tunesmiths from across the country for live shows and a collaborative album.

The musicians involved in the project are Wax Mannequin, Michael Feuerstack, Shotgun Jimmie, Baby Eagle, Marine Dreams, Mathias Kom (the Burning Hell), Kyle Cashen (Old Time Machine) and Richard Laviolette. According to a press release, each of them will bring one song to a recording session that will run from October 5 to 14 in Whitehorse, YT. The musicians will also perform on one another's songs. Visual artist Shary Boyle will be on hand to create the cover art.

The collective will perform the songs live on October 11 at the Yukon Arts Centre in Whitehorse and on October 12 at a Dawson City venue to be confirmed. The shows will feature visual accompaniment from Boyle.

In other news, Headless Owl is plotting solo releases from Michael Feuerstack and Wax Mannequin, to be released later this year.
