This two-hour performance confirms how Hawksley Workman devolved from being a unique and fascinating new artist into a generic modern rocker tapping into his inner Freddie Mercury and Bono. Even the audience looks bored until he breaks out material from his first two albums, when we're suddenly reminded of how inventive and compelling he could be. The show improves as it goes along, with the oldies dominating the second half, along with the more tolerable new material (although no one needs a ten-minute version of "Autumn's Here"). The real star of this show is keyboardist Todd "Mr. Lonely" Lumley, who smoothly steals the spotlight from the showboating Workman. Also included are all the videos, which range from the absolutely awful ("No Reason to Cry Out Your Eyes") to the absolutely brilliant ("Jealous of Your Cigarette"). Plus: short featurette on the making of Lover/Fighter. (Universal)
