Hatebreed

Live Dominance

BY Keith CarmanPublished Aug 21, 2008

It took ages for Hatebreed to release a DVD but with the power of Live Dominance, the wait has been justified. A complete multi-camera performance capturing the band at their strongest, Live Dominance is a rare moment where even an onlooker can be incited by the energy put forth. As the two hours of crystal clear footage and sound unfold, we see a packed crowd going nuts, provoked by thunderous, rumbling hardcore that’s low-slung and thick while still being virile and confrontational. Singer Jamie Jasta’s optimistic outlook is almost inspiring, as he continually prompts the audience towards a positive mindset. While bonus materials range from great concert footage and brief, albeit insightful, band interviews to questionable filler such as a single-camera driving to a Hatebreed show, watching the stage being set up and a gallery of dubious tattoos and deceased cohorts, overall Live Dominance is a worthwhile endeavour.
