Harvard Had to Clarify Lil Pump Is Not Replacing Angela Merkel as Its Commencement Speaker

Lil Pump is incredibly smart about being dumb. To promote his new album Harverd Dropout, he released a press release saying that he'd deliver the commencement address at the similarly named university Harvard. The educational institution has since clarified that's not the case.

Earlier this week, Warner Bros. sent out a press release saying that Pump would bring his wisdom to the podium at Harvard's 2019 commencement address.

"You don't gotta graduate from Harvard to do this speech," Lil Pump said in the press release. "I dropped out, so they called me like they called the guy that made Windows and PCs and shit before I was born. You just need a cap and gown, which I got. When I found out, I was happy to give everyone a lesson. I'm all about the youth. Yes, they are the future. This is a preview of my speech, one word: ESSKEETIT!!!!!!"

Of course, that simply isn't true. Harvard has since confirmed to The Hill that it will go ahead with their previously confirmed speaker, German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"As previously announced, Angela Merkel will be Harvard's Commencement 2019 speaker," reps from the university said without acknowledging Lil Pump.
