Hartsfield Katya

It seems as though Ottawa’s Hartsfield have taken the long road to get where they are today. Changes in name, genre, and members have brought them to Katya — a compelling collection of five catchy pop emo songs in the vein of Fall Out Boy and Homegrown. While their sound is a little too similar to a number of other Drive-Thru bands, they still retain a unique songwriting style that makes them more than another cookie cutter group with no sense of their own identity. Hartsfield work to cement their own sound while still paying some serious homage to their obvious influences, and on tracks like the closer "Halifax In A Two Day Drive,” this effort pays off in spades.
