Vancouver-based indie-pop singer Hannah Georgas is returning to a handful of tracks from 2020's All That Emotion on a new acoustic EP. All That Emotion (Acoustic) is out on September 17 via Arts & Crafts/Brassland.
The six-track record includes versions of tracks like "Change," "Punching Bag" and "Easy." According to a press release, the songs have not been entirely "stripped-down," but Georgas sees the "mini-album" as representative of the new life the songs have taken on since she recorded them with the National's Aaron Dessner, who also produced the original album.
In a statement about the EP, Georgas said:
Since releasing All That Emotion last year I've worked on music with friends in ways I never expected to. Local restrictions pushed me to reach out to my peers and collaborate from the comfort of my home studio, an experience I found surprisingly enjoyable. That distance and isolation inspired me to work on these recordings. It feels nice to capture how I've been performing the songs over the past year when I wasn't able to get together with my band. These versions document a very specific feeling and time, and it's special to be able to share them.
This project follows the release of All That Emotions Versions, which featured alternate versions of her tracks from artists including Bartees Strange and the National's Matt Berninger.
