No Happy Endings

BY Rob FerrazPublished Jan 1, 2006

This British psycho-billy trio are out to scare the panties off of unsuspecting listeners. At least that's the idea you get with titles like "(I Was A) Teenage Suicide," "The Pain Game" and "The Evil's Calling," and photos of Lon Chaney Sr. and Max Schreck. Their songs are quite upbeat and even happy sounding, however, and if the lyrics are about crawling skin, death, evil and ugliness, well, that just comes with the territory. The Link Wray take on the Stones' "Play With Fire" is well worth hearing. Not surprisingly, there are 13 songs in all and they make for good listening for the next time you have a hoedown at your local bone yard.
