Showing who the genius behind Wolf Parade’s lauded success really is, Dan Boeckner and his fiancée Alexei Perry kept the Comfort Zone crowd enraptured, packed like sardines in a boozeless speakeasy. Boeckner showed off some of his sweet, countrified riffage atop pre-programmed beats you would assume was a real drummer if you hadn’t seen it live. Sometimes Perry made you wonder what she was actually doing on her mini-Korg, and if she really has an important part in this band; she is a poet but she just can’t sing. Still, this is easily a project deserving of more than just second bill on anyone’s résumé.
