Hamilton Record Store Cheapies Sets Final Closing Date

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 13, 2020

Cheapies, the long-running Hamilton record shop, has revealed that it will close permanently next week.

In a message on social media, owner Brian Jasson confirmed that the store will officially close as of March 17 at 6 p.m.

Last month, he announced that the store would be closing "on or before March 27th." The shop has since been selling off remaining product at increasingly lowered prices.

In his latest message, Jasson once again thanked customers for their support and for sharing their memories of the store over the past month.

"Please accept my sincere apologies for taking Cheapies away from so many loyal and special customers and thank you to all my customers over the years for providing me a means of supporting my family since I opened my first store in 1978," he wrote.
