Halsey has unveiled a brand new single called "Nightmare," and it arrives with an accompanying music video.
The clip was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, and features an all-female cast. It's fitting given the theme of female empowerment, and the video sees Halsey and her girl gang pushing back against societal pressure to conform to traditional definitions of femininity.
The song itself was also inspired by the young women Halsey sees in the crowds at her shows on a regular basis.
"Imagine getting onstage every night and seeing young women sweating mascara tears, lightning in their eyes, throwing elbows and raising fists, screaming till the veins in their necks raise under warm skin, and not being inspired by it," she tweeted. "This song is about you, for you."
"Nightmare" follows Halsey's recent collaboration with BTS, "Boy with Luv."
