Published Jul 29, 2014Details are beginning to leak behind the 22nd annual Halifax Pop Explosion, with organizers having revealed the first wave of artists announcements includes the likes of barrier-breaking rockers Against Me!, Detroit rapper Danny Brown, and Wu-Tang vets Ghostface Killah and Raekwon.
This year's fest takes place at various venues across Halifax between October 21 and 25, including the new Halifax Forum Multi-Purpose Centre. Though details have yet to be unveiled in full, the centre will host an evening with synth-pop artist Lights, as well as a special performance teaming Ghostface and Raekwon with Toronto trio BADBADNOTGOOD.
The lineup reveal also confirms appearances from Twin Shadow, Tokyo Police Club, Chad VanGaalen, Austra, Whitehorse, Operators, Kevin Drew, the Wooden Sky, SonReal, Ill Gates, Thugli, Jen Kirkman, Cousins, Swearin', the Flatliners, Bry Webb, PS I Love You, Solids, Single Mothers, Mike Boyd, Petra, Teenage Kicks, Astral Swans, and City Natives.
Passes to the Halifax Pop Explosion go on sale August 1. To capitalize on the event's 22nd anniversary, early bird pricing on weekend wristbands and VIP passes will be sold for 22 percent less than their usual cost up until, naturally, August 22. You'll find out more info over here.
