With it being the weekend, that can only mean one thing at Exclaim.ca: we have a fresh News Round-Up for you link-clicking pleasure. And as always, there is a lot of for grabs.

Making the headlines this week, we had Halifax musician Dave Carroll launching a YouTube protest. Why, you ask? Because United Airlines busted up his $3,500 custom-made guitar and then refused to compensate the poor guy. Is his protest working? Well, you'll just have to read the story and find out.

We also discovered this week that alt-rock juggernauts Dinosaur Jr. have recalled their latest album, Farm, due to a mixing screw-up that made many copies of the sucker way too freakin' loud, Jack White plans to reissue the entire White Stripes catalogue and, in a bit of sad news, Toronto radio personality Martin Streek passed away at 45.

Of course, Tuesday also marked the day when the Polaris Music Prize revealed its anticipated short list. It was a bit surprising for us here Exclaim!, but perhaps not as surprising as it was for our readers, who recently made their very own Polaris short list predictions here on Exclaim.ca.
