Nearly 100 people were injured while waiting for a Louis Tomlinson Concert at Morrison, CO's Red Rocks Amphitheater last night (June 21) as severe storms moved across the area, pelting attendees with large chunks of hail, CNN reports.

At least seven people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while over 90 were treated on the scene for afflictions like cuts and broken bones.

The National Weather Service in Boulder issued a severe thunderstorm warning around 9:04 p.m. local time for an area that included the amphitheatre, warning that the storm could produce hail the size of a golf ball and winds gusting up to 80 kilometres per hour. Six tornadoes were also reported across Colorado, with the venue in neighbouring Morrison eventually being tagged directly in a warning tweet urging people to take shelter.

Former One Direction star Tomlinson had been scheduled to perform. After set times were pushed back twice due to weather, the show was ultimately postponed and fans were told to go home.

"Sending all my love out to everyone that was affected by the extreme weather at Red Rocks last night," the artist tweeted today. "I hope everyone has made it home safely and anyone who is injured is on the mend, it was devastating to see so many of you affected."

Tomlinson added that his team was hard at work trying to reschedule the show, telling fans to hold onto their tickets and promising to return soon. See his full statement below.
