Filmed at the pinnacle of Gwar’s inventiveness and outright cool, Phallus In Wonderland is the best movie these randy interstellar goons ever made. This particular foray mocks the incredible true story of a run-in with authorities that deemed the monster costume-festooned metal brigade offensive and took lead singer Oderous Urungus’s prosthetic penis into custody as evidence. Naturally, the legend has been twisted and morphed by these, well, twisted miscreants into the tale of the Morality Squad amputating the appendage and putting it on trial. The film culminates in song performances, drug abuse, a battle between Gwar and the Morality Squad, and the unleashing of band pet Gor-Gor (a crack-addled tyrannosaur) on the city. Hilarity, gore and stupidity all at the same time prove this goofy foray a masterpiece, even if the "extras” are merely regular DVD components such as a scene access menu, the option to play songs only and cast photos.
