Gwar appeared before anyone could hear them, but it didn't seem to slow the band down. With only the drum sound drifting off the stage, the extraterrestrial scumdogs from Virginia delivered a ritual slave beheading and christened the crowd with blood, powering through their opening number. The full band became audible gradually and patchily over the next few minutes, their spectacle easily filling the gaps. Hitler was their next victim, losing first his face and chest then brain, and then Christ suffered twice – through a second crucifixion set to "Let Us Slay" (plus some dismemberment and corpse desecration) and finally as a beefed-up warrior Jesus slain by frontman Oderus Urungus during a long instrumental break following "Hail, Genocide." From there, Gwar rocked to a nostalgic close with the classic "Sick of You," offering fans a few final gore-coloured showers straight from Oderus's Cuttlefish of Cthulu.
