Guttermouth

Covered In Ants

BY Rob FerrazPublished May 1, 2001

This band has always brought an original spin to the pop punk sound, and their Epitaph debut is no different. Guttermouth is what the Vandals would sound like if they decided to become a Butthole Surfers cover band. This record contains 11 catchy ditties woven with a hefty dose of humour and some weirdness. The song "Black Enforcers" sounds distinctly similar to the Pixies' "Crackity Jones," a reference that may be lost on the majority of fans. This is probably the only punk record you'll ever hear that ends with a five-minute piano solo.
