Guns N' Roses Drummer Steven Adler Hospitalized After Stabbing Himself in the Stomach
Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler has been reportedly hospitalized after stabbing himself in his home.

According to TMZ, a 911 call came from Adler's Los Angeles home shortly after 6:30 p.m. local time Thursday night (June 27) to report someone had stabbed themselves. When police and paramedics arrived, they reportedly found Adler had suffered a stab wound to his stomach.

Adler was taken to hospital, but he did not suffer life-threatening injuries, TMZ reports.

UPDATE (6/28, 2:30 p.m. EDT): A rep for Adler has now said the self-inflicted stab wound was an accident and not a suicide attempt. Speaking to TMZ, the rep would not say what caused the accident but described it as a "very minor, superficial wound." The rep added that Adler has remained sober for years.

Adler has had a long battle with substance abuse over the years, and the musician has been open about those struggles. He even appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, as well as the spinoff show Sober House.

Adler served as both drummer and co-songwriter in Guns N' Roses until he was fired over his heroin addiction in 1990. He was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside the band.
