Gunner & Smith Announce Canadian Spring Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 20, 2015

Saskatoon's Gunner & Smith began as songwriter Geoff Smith's solo folk project, and although it has since grown to become a full band, Smith will be revisiting his solo origins with a spring tour.

This solo iteration of Gunner & Smith will be launching the tour with a hometown show on March 28. From there, Smith will head east, travelling all the way out the Atlantic provinces before heading back. The outing will eventually wrap up right back where it started, with a homecoming gig on April 30.

Over the course of the month-plus outing, the folksinger will play a total of 17 shows. See the schedule below.

The trip is in support of last year's debut full-length He Once Was a Good Man. Once the tour is over, the band will turn their focus to album number two, as they will enter the studio to begin working on demos. A new album is expected to arrive later this year.

"2014 was all about trying to get our album out to as many people, in as many places as we could," Smith said in a statement. "We are hoping to take what we've been learning from this last year and put it into our new album."

More touring is planned for later in 2015, including a Western Canadian outing in June. Stay tuned for dates to be announced.
