Recently, we learned that the "classic" lineup of Guided By Voices got back together to record an album called Let's Go Eat the Factory, and now we have the first taste of the lo-fi legends' latest outing.
The relatively polished "The Unsinkable Fats Domino" is light-years away from the gritty, fuzzed-out four-track classics of yore, but the crunchy arrangement is still full of the Who-styled rock bombast we've come to expect from Robert Pollard and co. Bonus points for sticking to the band's affinity for keeping things short and to the point; the tune clocks in just shy of the two-minute mark.

Vinyl fans will be pleased to know they can get the track on wax a few months before the album's January 1 release day, when the LP will come via the band's own GBV Inc. On November 22, Matador Records will release the song as a seven-inch, which will include the B-side "We Won't Apologize."
