Guess How Much Drake Is Still Banking from 'Degrassi' Royalties

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 18, 2017

Before there was Drake, there was just Aubrey Graham, a baby-faced child actor getting his start in show business the way any young Canadian should — on Degrassi.

He shot to fame on Degrassi: The Next Generation, playing Jimmy Brooks from 2001 until 2009, and now in 2017, he's still rolling in that sweet Degrassi dough.

The rapper revealed a royalty cheque from the show via Instagram, shocking his fans with a whopping sum of, um, $8.25. Not $8.25 million. Eight dollars and twenty-five cents. And we're guessing that's in Canadian currency.

Thanks to his musical ventures (not to mention his restauranteur and fashionista ambitions) Drizzy was able to laugh off the paltry TV payday with a string of emoji stacks and the caption: "Degrassi money still coming in don't sleeeeeeeep."
