Guelph's Missed Connections Records Launches Artist of the Month Program
Newly founded Guelph label Missed Connections Records previously had just one artist on its roster, Zachary Lucky. Now, it's expanding its scope with an Artist of the Month program, as well as a new signing.

Helmed by Guelph musicians Tyler Belluz and Mike Brooks, the label's Artist of the Month campaign aims to highlight up-and-coming Canadian acts and will kick off on September 1. Each month's artist will be showcased with a free download card, live performances with CFRU 93.3 FM and the Pinball Sessions, and interviews.

September will be the first month of the program. The inaugural band are Guelph indie rockers Odd Years, featuring members of Cuff the Duke, Minotaurs and Lowlands. Look for free download cards to emerge at coffee shops, restaurants and music stores around Guelph.

In other label news, it has added local folk rock songwriter Alanna Gurr to the roster. There's currently no word as to when her first release for the imprint will arrive.
