Guelph's Hillside Inside Gets Dan Mangan, Wooden Sky, Harry Manx for 2012 Instalment

Guelph, ON's Hillside Festival has been delivering outdoor summer showcases for nearly 30 years, but organizers realized a few years back that the winter months were getting neglected, which was the impetus for the seasonally specific sister even Hillside Inside. With winter just around the corner, the event's fifth instalment has begun to roll out its lineup.

Hillside Inside 2012 will take place February 3 and 4 across a number of Guelph venues, and already the event has wrangled up some big names, most notably BC-based indie troubadour Dan Mangan (pictured). The Oh Fortune songsmith will bring his tender yet gruffly sung tunes to the River Run Centre on February 3, and the night will also feature performances from the Wooden Sky and Guelph locals Lowlands.

Also announced is a double bill of bluesman Harry Manx and Australian one-man band Kim Churchill that will take place the next day (February 4) at St. George's Church.

While the rest of the fest has yet to be announced, a press release also reveals that a number of free music and arts and crafts workshops will be running throughout downtown, and a road hockey tournament raising funds for the Nicholas Lambden Foundation will be held in the RBC parking lot.

Expect more details on the lineup in the coming months.
