Montreal-based electronic musician Kevin Jamey has been making music under his Groj moniker for years now, and more recently launched his own label, Box Records. Showing no signs of slowing down his musical output, Groj is set to release his Gala EP next week — and Exclaim! is giving you a chance to stream it a week before it comes out.
The three-track offering follows Groj's 2013 full-length effort Playmorium and aims to transport the listener to a tropical destination. And although it might be ideal for enjoying the summertime outdoors, Jamey assures us that the new songs "have also been tested to stand their ground extremely well in all club sizes during any season."
"Disco Soleil" blends twinkling synths and island-inspired percussion into the perfect soundtrack to a summer night, while the title track grabs attention with its slick bass grooves. The third and final track, "No One Is Watching You," takes the listener on an airy, dream-like journey to a place "where you can entirely let go and forget yourself."
