Grimskunk

Toronto ON June 7 to 9

Like a Canadian Rodney Dangerfield, the legendary Grimskunk never seem to get the respect they deserve. Still, they rise above, delivering a passionate, perfectly executed set despite being relegated to playing an absolute shithole during one of the festival’s worst time slots. Pacing the stage like a caged animal, front-man/keyboardist Joe Evil seemed ready to strike at any moment while his cohorts devastated their own respective instruments. Covering their 15-year-old catalogue, a strong list of favourites were incorporated in with plugs for new album Fires Under The Road, leaving everyone to realise that 40 minutes is just enough time to warm up to these freaks.
