Grimes gave us her latest album Miss Anthropocene this year, and while it's been out a while now, Claire Boucher has now shared the album's original album cover, which is drastically different than what ended up on the release.
In an Instagram post, Boucher explained that she originally got Korean illustrator Rupid Leejm to do the album cover. But apparently Grimes in the end decided not to use the art because, as she put it, "I polled a bunch of ppl and everyone said not to use it."
However, Grimes seems to now have some serious regrets.
"I wish I trusted my gut," she wrote. "I fucking LOVE this painting. Maybe there's a way to utilise it still (very open to ideas if u guys have ideas). I also love commissioning and/or buying prints and art. It's something I just got into this year. It's a great way to support visual artists during the quarantine."
Down below, you can see what was to be the original artwork for Miss Anthropocene, and that's what was actually released on the album up above. But which is actually better?
