Grimes Readies New EP with Membrain Side-Project
With Grimes' latest album, Visions, achieving some serious breakthrough success, now is the perfect time the Montreal songwriter also known as Claire Boucher to launch a side-project. So we're not surprised that she's lined up a new EP with her collaborative endeavour Membrain.

This is Boucher's duo with electronic noise busker Tim Lafontaine, aka Cop Car Bonfire, a fellow Montreal-based Vacouverite. The pair have readied an EP called Sit Back, Rewind. According to Dummy, it's due later this year, but the exact release information isn't yet clear.

For now, you can hear the Membrain tracks "Airic" (which incorporates Grimes' own "Symphonia IX (my wait is u)" from Visions), "Eye Try" and "Sit Back, Rewind," all of which are even stranger and more computerized than the material we're used to hearing from Boucher. All three of those are below, but more songs are available over at SoundCloud.

Of course, we also have Boucher's new collaboration with Blood Diamonds to look forward to, meaning that it's an exciting time to be a Grimes fan.
