Grimes Maps Out North American Tour with Born Gold

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 21, 2011

Grimes has a new album, Visions, due out on January 31 through Arbutus Records. It's only fitting, then, that the Montreal-based pop experimenter is getting ready to hit the road for a North American tour.

A few weeks after the album arrives on shelves, Grimes will embark on a trek that will last from mid-February until the end of March. The bulk of the dates are in the U.S., but the songwriter also has a handful of gigs in her home country. These include Vancouver on February 18, Toronto on March 19 and Montreal on March 31.

Along the way, she will be joined by Born Gold, who you may remember by their old name, Gobble Gobble.

The tour schedule is below. Scroll past that to get a taste of Visions in the form of the dreamy dance tune cut "Oblivion." A press release promises that the album "conjures a phantasmic state for the deep listener, sourcing the long forgotten spells that have coexisted with humans for centuries and forcing them through a hyper-futuristic filter." Far out, man.
