Published May 25, 2015Ryan Kostel is a veteran of Calgary's hardcore punk scene, having performed with acts like Point Break, Intercoarse and Skaabis. He currently mans the synths for post-punk band PMMA, and he's just found a second use for his key-tickling tendencies with the new solo act the Grid.
Working as the Grid, Kostel has just dropped a 10 track digital LP. Built on ice cold synth tones, rigid drum machine beats and his own dejected vocals, its a perfectly dark way to start your week.
The album includes guest spots from PMMA members Garrett Lidkea and Michael Grant along with Tommy Grimes and Catherine Cross. It also includes a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm Going Down."
Mope away your Monday with a stream of The Grid below. The album will be pressed to cassette later this year.
