Grey Kingdom Returns with New Album, Canadian Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 11, 2012

Last spring, Spencer Burton's Grey Kingdom delivered the mini-effort The Weeping Suns, and the former Attack in Black member will follow up that release with a full-length affair titled Light, I'll Call Your Name Out "Darkness". The record arrives October 2 through Dine Alone Records.

This will be Burton's second full-length as Grey Kingdom, following 2010's Eulogy of Her, and Her, and Her, and a press release describes the ten-song set as a "sincere, personal testimony." Like previous work, the release homes in on haunting, folky acoustic arrangements, though the tunes are beefed up slightly with string sections and steel guitar. Lyrically, the album apparently delivers "touching tales of love, and love lost."

You can sample the new, downcast and delicate country tune "Imminent Failure" below.

As previously reported, Grey Kingdom will be on tour with East Coast folkie Old Man Luedecke this fall, heading from the Prairies to the West Coast and then bouncing back towards Quebec and Ontario. You can catch the details down below.
