Here's a match made in pop-punk heaven — Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Rancid's Tim Armstrong have finally joined forces, sharing their love of East Bay punk and their shared surname with a new band called Armstrongs.

The band is rounded out by even more Armstrongs, including Rey Armstrong and Billie's son Joey. The band have released their first (and hopefully not last) track called "If There Was Ever a Time" via Hellcat Records.

The song, which was also featured in the documentary Turn It Around, will be available via a limited flexi-disc, which can be purchased here. All proceeds from the song will be donated to the legendary Bay Area punk venue 924 Gilman.

In a press release, Billie Joe said, "Anything that has to do with working with Gilman and Tim and Joey Armstrong, consider me in. This is about our home and family. Viva Armstrong!"

Tim added, "It was exciting to work on this song with Billie and crew for the film. Stoked to share the tune with everyone out there and to be donating all the proceeds to Gilman, which is a place so near, dear, and important to us."
