Published Feb 12, 2008Though he's an advocate for free speech against the war, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong asked fans not to record a recent performance. During a February 4th gig in Los Angeles with his long-running side project Pinhead Gunpowder, he pleaded with fans to put their cameras away.
The irked punker addressed the crowd, saying "How many people out there have digital cameras and cell phones? Let's put them away. YouTube can't own everything. There's also something called memories."
Little does Armstrong know that not only does YouTube own everything, but that some Green Day fansites out there are pretty damn wealthy as well .
