Green Day Explain Their Anti-Trump AMAs Performance
Green Day took the opportunity to publicly denounce president-elect Donald Trump during their American Music Awards performance on Sunday night (November 20), and they appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night (November 22) to discuss the politically charged stunt.

As previously reported, the band worked a chant of "No Trump! No KKK! No fascist USA!" into their Revolution Radio single "Bang Bang." Talking to Corden, Green Day explained that it was a reference to the MDC track "Born to Die."

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong added that they were "just as much in shock as everybody else" over Trump's victory, and that their AMAs performance was "a good start to challenge him on all of his ignorant policies and racism."
