Green Day Have Landed on Mars
NASA landed the InSight explorer on Mars yesterday (November 26), but most people probably didn't know that Green Day were tucked away inside of the spacecraft. Well, kind of.

The band etched a message into a chip that was sent up in to space via the Mars lander. It reads: "Green Day Since 1986."

The inscription is a testament to the date that the California punks started playing together as a band, though they went by the moniker Sweet Children at first.

NASA has yet to comment on the group's inclusion on the space-bound mission, but Green Day deemed the experience "out of this world" on Twitter.
