Great Lake Swimmers Announce 'Swimming Away' EP, Premiere Title Track

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 2, 2016

Last year saw Ontario folk troupe Great Lake Swimmers release A Forest of Arms, then bring 2015 to the end with a string of live shows. Now, the band are ready to take on 2016 with a brand new EP and another tour. Titled Swimming Away, the band's latest offering is due out on March 25 through Nettwerk.

The four-song set hears the band diving into the back catalogue of Tom Waits for a cover of "Innocent When You Dream," as well as PJ Harvey's "The Desperate Kingdom of Love." In addition to the new takes on old classics, the band also deliver a pair of original tunes with "Condition White" and the EP's title track, "Swimming Away."

The latter is ready to be heard right now, and Exclaim! is giving you the exclusive first listen. You might be lucky enough to catch it live at one of the band's upcoming shows listed below, but until you do, keep scrolling to give "Swimming Away" an inaugural spin.
