Organizers behind the Bloor Ossignton Folk Festival are bringing together a number of Canadian scene vets for a February residency at Toronto cafe Saving Gigi, with the Grapes of Wrath's Kevin Kane and solo artist Eamon McGrath stewarding the shows the whole month through.
"Fridays in February with Kane and Eamon" will feature a set from each artist every weekend, with Kane and McGrath promising to spice up each performance via different set lists and weekly guests. Apparently, "the two will have something special planned each week," according to the press release.
The first event is on February 7, and Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning is booked as the first guest. As you'll see in the schedule down below, also appearing will be Holly McNarland, Fiver's Simone Schmidt and the Wooden Sky member Gavin Gardner.
Advance tickets for each event are selling at Saving Gigi for $12, while it will cost $15 at the door. A bundle package for all four shows is also going for $45.
Last year, Kane released High Road with the Grapes of Wrath, while McGrath is currently working on his Exile series, the second instalment of which is scheduled to land in March.
