You can hear its lead single "Mutations" featuring De La Soul's Posdnuos now

Toronto hip-hop crew Grand Analog have revealed they will be hitting us up with some new tunes next year. Come January 26, the group will release a new EP called Survival via their own Grand Analog Music.

The mini-effort comes loaded with a series of guests, including Posdnuos of De La Soul. In fact, the hip-hop hero appears on the EP's lead-off single "Mutations," which you can listen to at the bottom of the page.

In a statement, Grand Analog's Odario Williams said of the track, "'Mutations' is a song about time itself. It's about reflection and being confident in the changes we all face as humans. There was only one emcee I wanted to work with on this recording, and I feel so blessed to have the legendary Posdnuos drop a verse on Alister Johnson's crafty beat."

Other guests on the EP include Shad, A Tribe Called Red producer 2oolman, Clairmont The Second and songwriter Adaline.

"There are quite a few reasons we titled this EP Survival," said Williams. "One being surviving the fear in taking a chance on something new in life. Another reason is the fact that classic sounds in music production always stand the test of time. In other words, there are certain sounds that survive the quickly changing trends in music. Collectively, we listen to a lot of vintage sounds for inspiration, and wanted our music to reflect the classics. This collection is an ode to 'Golden Era 90s Hip-Hop,' back when the culture passionately meant something to people."
