For those who have been holding out for a new album from Gossip since 2009, that wait is almost over. On May 22, the band will release A Joyful Noise via Columbia Records. Until then, you can stream the entire 11-song album at Exclaim.ca.
The album was produced by Brian Higgins of the Xenomania songwriting team; he also helped to pen some of the album's tracks. It was recorded partly at the producer's studio in England and partly at KBC Studios in Portland, OR.
This is the band's first album since frontwoman Beth Ditto went solo for her self-titled EP in 2011. According to a press release, this latest album was inspired by a deep fixation with Abba and "stays true to Gossip's trademark brash and unapologetic nature." This means lots more dancefloor-oriented bangers, so get ready to bust a move when you click play below.
