Gorillaz To Be Put Down
Damon Albarn has revealed that his cartoon pop experiment Gorillaz will no longer release studio albums. The front-man for Blur and the Good, the Bad & the Queen told BBC Radio Two that he will soon retire the project he began with Tank Girl artist Jamie Hewlett back in 2000.

There is some good news for fans though: Albarn has been in talks with Monty Python director Terry Gilliam to direct a feature film starring the Gorillaz crew, which will also feature a score composition/soundtrack recording.

"We're trying to make a film next, starting in September hopefully,” Albarn said. "It will be a film score. There won't be another pop record."

According to recent reports, the idea is for cartoon band members — Murdoc Niccals, 2D, Russel Hobbs and Noodle — to act as alternative characters, instead of playing themselves.
