Gonzales is fast becoming one of the most interesting composers of our time. The Canada-born pianist has played a key role in albums from Peaches, Feist and Jamie Lidell, and, more recently, broke the Guinness World Record for the longest solo piano performance with a set that last for 27 hours, 3 minutes and 44 seconds. Now, the pianist is keeping his stream of projects going by way of a hip-hop-heavy mixtape.

Titled Pianist Envy, the 28-minute seamless mix sees the pianist pairing vocal samples from rap and pop songs with his compositions. Artists sampled include Beyoncé, 50 Cent, Kelly Clarkson, Daft Punk, Lil Wayne and Clipse, among others. The mixtape can be downloaded here.

In some related news, a recent profile in the New York Times revealed that Gonzales's next project will be a collaborative album with Berlin-based DJ Boys Noize. The album is called Ivory Tower, but doesn't have a release date as of yet.
