This year has been a time of celebration for Dario Argento's now classic 1977 horror film Suspiria. With the movie not only recently restored in 4K and currently making its way to theatres, firm details have emerged on its remake, which will feature a new soundtrack by none other than Radiohead hero Thom Yorke. To top this all off, we now have details on a long-rumored box set for the original film's landmark soundtrack, composed by Italian greats Goblin.
Cinevox and AMS Records have teamed to deliver an impressively massive 40th anniversary box set featuring the original Goblin soundtrack and so much more. Appropriately enough, it's also due out on October 31.
There will be two versions of the box set available: a standard edition and an ultra limited "peacock version," which will be hand-numbered and limited to 150 copies worldwide.
As the labels explain, both versions will contain the following:
● a faithful reproductions of the original soundtrack in LP format (with 'gimmick' insert, identical to the first 1977 edition) and MC
● a 10-inch LP with rare and unpublished tracks on clear red vinyl
● a CD + DVD set: the CD contains the original soundtrack with bonus tracks, while the DVD carries a documentary with interviews with Dario Argento and Goblin
● two 64-page books, in Italian and English language, with detailed analysis of Suspiria film and soundtrack, written by Fabio Capuzzo, one of the leading experts in the 'goblinian' and cinematographic matter around
If that's still not enough for you, the "peacock version" adds all these goodies:
● a foam interior exclusive design with a carved Suspiria logo
● a certificate of authenticity
● an exclusive handcrafted 'peacock feather stiletto', reproducing an object handled by the protagonist Suzy in the final scenes of the movie

It's set to star Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and Tilda Swinton, as well as the film's original lead Jessica Harper (who will take on the role of a different character). As of yet, it's unclear exactly when the film will arrive, but it has reportedly finished shooting.
