Goblin Prepping New 'Four of a Kind' LP via PledgeMusic Campaign

Following up last year's tour EP and a few more recent vinyl represses, Italian prog outfit Goblin have unveiled plans to prep more ghoulish tunes for a full-length release in 2015.

The band recently launched a PledgeMusic campaign to raise funds for the record, dubbed Four of a Kind. Though not too much has been revealed thus far, the band explain that they'll be recording their latest crop of tunes before the end of January at a studio in Rome and are asking fans to pitch in to help put out the LP.

Despite last year's tour EP of re-recorded versions of music from their old Profondo Rosso, Tenebre, Roller and Suspiria, this will be the band's first proper full-length of new material since 2006's Back to the Goblin.

It should be noted that the current Goblin lineup does not feature founding member and keyboardist Claudio Simonetti, who instead leads the tellingly titled Claudio Simonetti's Goblin. The Goblin putting together Four of a Kind does, however, feature co-founder Massimo Morante on guitar, keyboardist Maurizio Guarini, bassist Fabio Pignatelli, and drummer Agostino Marangolo.

As with many crowdsourcing ventures, the Four of a Kind campaign is offering several Goblin-themed incentives for fans looking to pledge some funds. This ranges from a straight digital download of the set to vinyl editions, T-shirts, signed merchandise, an ephemera-loaded photo book, production credits and the opportunity to visit the group in the studio.
