Goatsnake

'Black Age Blues' (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 1, 2015

Though tomorrow (June 2) marks the official release of Los Angeles metal quartet Goatsnake's new Black Age Blues LP, you can stream the band's gloom-soaked return in full via an early album stream on Bandcamp.

A handful of singles had already been leaked, including the ominous, Southern sludge stomper "Elevated Man." Other equally potent dips into doomy waters include "House of the Moon" and the frightening, familial "Granda Jones." Despite the chunky riffing and crushed groove, the latter is lifted up with the sounds of a gospel choir, as is "Jimi's Gone," a song about the transformative powers of music.

Though physical copies of the album land tomorrow through guitarist Greg Anderson's Southern Lord imprint, you can learn all about the Black Age Blues down below.
