Globelamp

"Controversial Confrontational"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 19, 2015

Elizabeth Le Fey may be recognizable to some from her time playing in Foxygen, but these days she's forging a solo path for herself under the moniker Globelamp.

A press release describes her songs as those of "the artist as traveller," carving out a unique musical journey by combining elements of fantasy and narrative. Her tale gets fleshed out on Globelamp's debut full-length, The Orange Glow, but before that record arrives, Exclaim! has got the premiere of album cut "Controversial Confrontational."

The song is a lush amalgamation of eccentric sounds and spirited vocals that rises and falls in unexpected ways — as any good story should.

The Orange Glow arrives on October 27 through Psychedelic ThriftStore Recordings. Listen to "Controversial Confrontational" below.

There will also be a release show in L.A. on October 29 at Harvard & Stone. You can get more info about that here.
