Girl Talk Releases New All Day Album As Free Download

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 15, 2010

While a couple of weeks back we hinted at a new album from mash-up maniac Girl Talk, we didn't think it would be released so soon. As of this morning (November 15), his latest blend of appropriated hits is available as a free download.

Titled All Day, the laptop wizard's fifth full-length promises to be another insane mix, delivering familiar songs jumbled and pieced together at a pace that would make Olympic sprinters tortoise-like.

The 71-minute mix features a gargantuan 373 samples, making for arguably the most densely packaged Girl Talk album yet. The press release explains that ten years into his career, Girl Talk (aka Greg Gillis) is just getting more out-there and adventurous with his pop piracy.

"With the grand intent of creating the most insane and complex pop collage album ever heard, large catalogs of both blatantly appropriated melodies and blasts of unrecognizable fragments were assembled for the ultimate Girl Talk record," the PR reads.

All Day is now available for free via Illegal Art over here. MP3s are available as either separated tracks or as one long mega-mix, while FLAC files will be available shortly. A tracklisting crediting the hundreds of "contributors" has yet to be released, but Gillis will post the information soon. That's okay for now – half the fun of a Girl Talk record is picking up on his at random sampling.

As a reminder, Gillis will be taking his mish-mash music show on the road soon. We're thinking he'll get at least a couple of All Day tracks into his set list.
