"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink," the proverb goes — and unfortunately for Ginuwine, the "Pony" hitmaker was led to water by Criss Angel and appeared to nearly drown.

A video published by The Daily Mail this week (October 12) shows the artist attempting to hold his breath underwater submerged in a glass box, a stunt reportedly attempted for the Mindfreak magician's new television series, Criss Angel's Magic with the Stars.

The video, found below, sees Ginuwine signal his distress by hitting the side of the tank before crew members lift him to the surface. The Daily Mail cites a source who claims paramedics were called to the scene after the artist fell unconscious, adding, "It all happened so fast, it was like he got tapped out in a fight."

Ginuwine's rep told People that the singer has "made a full recovery," explaining, "He was conquering a fear ... Fortunately everything is OK as he was working with Criss Angel, who's the best in the business."

The Daily Mail's source added that even though Ginuwine "failed [the stunt] in rehearsals," he succeeded during taping for the season, "and everyone was in tears."

Premiering October 22, Criss Angel's Magic with the Stars will also feature guest appearances from Frankie Muniz, Flavor Flav, Corbin Bleu, Donny Osmond and more.
