Ghostface Killah

Ghostdeini The Great

BY Kevin JonesPublished Jan 26, 2009

Ghostface Killah is one of those rare MCs seemingly incapable of coming wack, with a personality as strong as his mic skills are deep and a catalogue of gems most rappers would truly have to rob, cheat and steal to even come close to amassing. After spoiling fans with a few solid years of enviable stocking stuffers, Ghost reopened the vault for Christmas '08 with the scattershot collection of hits and remixes presented in Ghostdeini The Great, its arbitrary selection process simply reaffirming the man's prowess. Filthy bangers like the "Run," "Kilo" and "The Champ" remixes burn white hot alongside classics like the MF Doom-produced "9 Milli Bros.," "Apollo Kids," "Cherchez LaGhost" and the eternal "All That I Got Is You." The bonus DVD features a well-shot (though annoyingly radio-friendly) tour video with a full concert worth of onstage footage, as well as some revealing backstage moments (Ghost is diabetic?), wrapping up yet another tight serving from MCing superhero Tony Starks.
