Published Feb 16, 2010It's a good time to be a recovering '90s emo dude or dudette. If those upcoming Braid reissues and a Cap'n Jazz reunion weren't enough to have you lost in a full-blown nostalgia trip, check this out: the Get Up Kids have announced they're putting out a new EP.
Although no exact release date is set yet, the EP will be released sometime in April and will be called Simple Science, according to Punknews. It's the band's first release since 2004's Guilt Show, and the EP will be available exclusively for download at iTunes and on limited-edition twelve-inch vinyl (which will be numbered and available in different colours) and CD, which the band is releasing themselves.
The guys are getting surprisingly active, with some reunion shows last year and upcoming tour dates in Australia and Japan, which, according to the band on a blog posting on their MySpace, will not feature bassist Rob Pope who now plays in Spoon. For the dates, Nate Harold will stand in on the four-stringer.
