Published Jul 11, 2011Tired of the same old tracks on your iPod? Are you aching for new music to help lift you out of that old auditory routine? Well, we can help you accomplish just that. Head on over to our Click Hear section to broaden your musical horizons. Here's a sample of what you'll find.
To start, Taking Back Sunday (pictured) have premiered their new video, "Faith (When I Let You Down)." Featuring their newest furry friend and his quick rise to fame -- which comes with a massive ego trip -- you definitely want to check out the entertaining video in all its classic TBS glory.
Then we have Handsome Furs' newest single, "What About Us," which has also received the video treatment. Running with the theme of nudity, be prepared to see a lot of skin, but check out why it actually says something about our society.
Nothing says summer like mixtapes and this week we have a couple standout ones. First off, Tyler, the Creator has complied a mix of summery tracks to help him get through his time away from home while touring Europe. You can also get your hands on a new mixtape from L.A.-based beat master Flying Lotus. "Lovers Melt 2" plays as one continuous stream, but that just means the tripped-out party is non-stop.
Back on the Canadian front, the Be Good Tanyas have released a pair of never-before-heard tracks to accompany the reissue of their 2000 debut, Blue Horse. And fans of Ontario country outfit the Gertrudes have announced plans for their sophomore album and, to celebrate, have released a stream of opening track "Derby Girl." Check it out to get an idea of what can be expected from the new record.
This week also sees Exclaim! streaming the full, upcoming album from Vancouver's In Medias Res. It Was Warm and Sunny When We First Set Out is lauded as "carefully crafted" and "sweetly melodic." You'll definitely want to delight your auditory senses with this one.
